Corrugated Board
Corrugated board is made from a combination of two outer sheets of paper
called liners, which are glued to the fluting or corrugated medium. The three
layers of paper are assembled so as to give the overall structure a better
strength than that of each separate layer.
The Fluting comes in varying thicknesses:
| E FLUTE - approximately 1.8 mm thickness |
 |
| B FLUTE - approximately 2.7 mm thickness |
 |
| C FLUTE - approximately 3.7 mm thickness |
 |
| TWIN CUSHION - a combination of two flute sizes, usually 'B' and 'C', is
specified when high compression strength is more important |
 |
The Flute choice depends on the finished case's purpose and what it will
carry. Charta can
advise you on the best option for your packaging needs.
